The seed of God's life in you must grow. The seed
will grow if the soil remains healthy by the
care you give it (Luke 8:15). This website is intended as a place to
come each day where you may fertilize, weed and
cultivate the soil in which the seed and plant of
God's image is growing in you (Ephes 4:14-15; 2 Cor 9:6; 1 Cor 3:7).
This
soil, your heart, does not remain healthy if left
unattended. There are constant changes in the
quality of your inner and outer life which effects
the soil. (Matthew 13:1-8) Some days the soil is hard like the beaten path and the seed is unable to grow at all. On another day the soil is rootless because of its rockiness. The growing plant is weak and anemic. Yet another day the seed and plant are crowded and choked by weeds. But on another day the soil is being fed rich spiritual nutrients and is thriving.
The external changes (e.g. medical problems,
financial concerns, relationship and work stress)
and internal changes (e.g. depression, anxiety,
confusion, doubt, sin, discouragement) create
the ups and downs in your Christian life, like Seasons of the Year. The Church recognizes these changes in the life of the Christian and provides nine spiritual seasons [Advent (anticipation), Christmas (fulfillment), Epiphany (joy), Lent (reparation), Holy Week (sorrow), Easter (joy), Ascension (wonder), Pentecost (full-fillment), Trinity (completion] based on the life of Christ, in order to help you remain spiritually alive. Through these Seasons of the Christian's life, the church enables you to maintain that fervent, faithful, filial fellowship with the Father through Jesus and under the working power of the Holy Spirit, which brings peace, joy and many of God's richest blessings.
